THE EXPERIENCE
REFINISH EXPERIENCE SINCE 1992
Automotive paint isn’t something we learned from a detailing video. Our refinishing experience dates back more than three decades.
PRODUCTS & EQUIPMENT
PROFESSIONAL TOOLS FOR PROFESSIONAL RESULTS
Professional products, polishers and pads selected for the vehicle and the result — not because we’re locked into one brand.
THE PHILOSOPHY
DO WHAT’S RIGHT FOR THE VEHICLE
The most expensive option isn’t automatically the right option. Every recommendation starts with the condition of the vehicle and what you’re trying to accomplish.

MORE THAN THREE DECADES AROUND AUTOMOTIVE PAINT
WHY EXPERIENCE MATTERS
My automotive refinishing experience began in 1992, and I became ASE certified in automotive refinishing in 1994. That background came years before ceramic coatings and modern paint correction became major parts of the detailing industry.
That matters because automotive paint isn't simply a shiny surface waiting to be polished. Modern clear coat is a finite material. Vehicles may have factory paint, repainted panels, previous repairs, sanding marks, deep scratches, oxidation or defects that require very different approaches.
CORRECTION ISN'T ABOUT CHASING EVERYTHING
KNOWING WHEN TO STOP MATTERS TOO
Anyone can make an aggressive combination of compound, pad and machine attack a defect. The important question is whether removing that defect is actually the right decision for the paint.
Some scratches can be safely removed. Others should be reduced rather than completely eliminated. Sometimes preserving clear coat is more important than chasing the last few percent of visual perfection.
Experience helps determine the difference.
THE GOAL ISN'T TO REMOVE THE MOST PAINT.
THE GOAL IS TO CREATE THE BEST RESULT FOR THE VEHICLE.
PRODUCTS & EQUIPMENT
THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB
We aren't interested in being locked into one manufacturer simply because its logo looks good on a shelf. Different paints, defects and services can require different products, pads, machines and techniques.
That's why our shop uses professional products and equipment from multiple respected manufacturers. The product gets selected for the job — the job doesn't get changed to accommodate the product.

Even within the same product line, there isn't one pad, polish or machine combination that's perfect for every vehicle. Paint hardness, defect level, previous repairs and the desired result all influence the process.
We test, evaluate and adjust the process based on what the vehicle actually needs.
WE DON'T FORCE THE VEHICLE INTO A PRODUCT SYSTEM.
WE BUILD THE PRODUCT SYSTEM AROUND THE VEHICLE.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
DO WHAT'S RIGHT FOR THE VEHICLE
The most expensive service isn't automatically the best service. Before recommending a correction, coating or detailing package, we start with the vehicle itself and what the owner is actually trying to accomplish.
A daily driver, a brand-new vehicle, a ten-year-old black truck and a garage-kept show car don't necessarily need the same process — and we don't pretend they do.
01 — EVALUATE
Look at the condition of the vehicle, the paint, existing protection and any defects or previous repairs.
02 — UNDERSTAND THE GOAL
Find out what the owner wants from the vehicle and how the vehicle is actually used.
03 — RECOMMEND
Recommend the service that makes sense for the condition, goals and budget — not automatically the most expensive option.
04 — TEST
When correction is involved, test the paint and determine the least aggressive process capable of producing the desired result.
05 — PROTECT
Finish the job with the appropriate protection and provide realistic expectations for maintaining the result.
THE MOST EXPENSIVE OPTION ISN'T ALWAYS THE RIGHT OPTION.
THE RIGHT OPTION IS THE ONE THAT MAKES SENSE FOR YOUR VEHICLE.

MEET THE OWNER
MEET JOHN “CLEVELAND” BOOTH — NORTH TEXAS CERAMIC COATINGS & DETAILING OF DFW
John “Cleveland” Booth is the owner of North Texas Ceramic Coatings & Detailing of DFW. His automotive background goes far beyond detailing, with hands-on automotive refinishing experience dating back to 1992 and ASE certification in automotive refinishing earned in 1994.
That experience created a different approach to paint correction and vehicle protection. Understanding how automotive paint is built, how clear coat behaves and how far a finish can safely be corrected matters just as much as making the vehicle look incredible when the job is finished.
Professional results. Straightforward recommendations. Work we’re proud to put our name on.
MY STORY
FROM CLEVELAND TO NORTH TEXAS
Long before I officially moved to North Texas, Dallas had already been my second home for nearly 25 years. I've been coming here long enough to remember when Frisco seemed to have more cows than people, when the Dallas North Tollway eventually dumped you onto a two-lane road, and when my Dallas nightlife revolved around the music scene at places like Reno's, The Curtain Club (RIP), and Trees.
Somewhere during all those years, I picked up the nickname "Cleveland" from the Dallas band Drowning Pool. Yes, we're talking about the "Let the bodies hit the floor" Drowning Pool. Whether they couldn't remember my actual name, didn't want to remember it, or simply decided the guy from Ohio was now named Cleveland, I honestly couldn't tell you. But the name stuck.
And I mean it stuck. There are plenty of people today who simply know me as Cleveland — and some of them probably couldn't tell you my real name if you paid them.
THE AUTOMOTIVE SIDE
THE STORY STARTED LONG BEFORE THE DETAIL SHOP
My automotive refinishing background dates back to 1992. In 1994, I became ASE certified in automotive refinishing. Long before ceramic coatings became mainstream and long before paint correction became a phrase everybody in detailing used, I was learning automotive paint from the refinishing side of the industry.
That experience still influences virtually everything I do today. Paint isn't just something to make glossy. Clear coat is a finite material. Vehicles get repaired and repainted. Different paint systems respond differently to compounds, pads and machines. Some defects can safely be removed. Others need to be reduced rather than chased until there's nothing left to protect.
Eventually that refinishing background grew into detailing, paint correction and modern vehicle protection. The products and technology have changed tremendously over the years, but the basic philosophy hasn't: understand what you're working on before deciding what you're going to do to it.
MAKING NORTH TEXAS HOME
EVENTUALLY, THE SECOND HOME BECAME HOME.
After spending roughly 25 years coming back and forth to Dallas and watching North Texas change around me, eventually it was time to stop visiting and actually call it home.
There was just one minor obstacle: convincing my fiancée. That ONLY took about three and a half years. She was definitely the naysayer of the two of us when it came to moving from Ohio to Texas. I kept telling her there was a difference between living and living well — and I wasn't talking about money.
Eventually, I won that argument and we made the move. These days, if you ever meet her, make it a point to ask her one question: "So... do you want to move back to Ohio?"
I'll let her answer that one. 😂
I'd tell you what I think her answer would be, but we need to keep the G rating here — this is a business page after all. LMAO 😂
FAMILY FIRST
MORE THAN CARS, COATINGS & CORRECTION
Outside the shop, I'm a family man and proud father of a son and daughter. Moving to North Texas wasn't simply a business decision or a change of scenery — it was about building a life here with my family and finally making the place I'd considered my second home for so many years our actual home.
That family-first mindset carries into the business too. North Texas Ceramic Coatings & Detailing of DFW isn't a faceless chain or a high-volume operation. My name and reputation are attached to every vehicle that leaves the shop, and I want customers to feel comfortable knowing exactly who they're trusting with their vehicle.
THE BUSINESS TODAY
North Texas Ceramic Coatings & Detailing of DFW brings those different parts of my life together: decades of automotive experience, years around North Texas, a passion for properly corrected paint and an obsession with finding the right products, tools and protection for the vehicle in front of me.
I'm also not interested in selling somebody the most expensive service simply because I can. A daily driver doesn't necessarily need to be treated like a show car. A brand-new vehicle doesn't necessarily need the same correction as a ten-year-old black truck. And if a properly evaluated showpiece has enough clear coat and the goal really is perfection, then yes — we'll chase it.
DO THE JOB RIGHT. PROTECT THE VEHICLE.
AND DELIVER SOMETHING I'M PROUD TO PUT MY NAME ON.
THE BUSINESS TODAY
EXPERIENCE MATTERS. INTEGRITY MATTERS MORE.
North Texas Ceramic Coatings & Detailing of DFW brings those different parts of my life together: decades of automotive experience, years around North Texas, a passion for properly corrected paint and an obsession with finding the right products, tools and protection for the vehicle in front of me.
But experience alone isn't enough. How you conduct business matters too. I believe customers deserve honesty about what their vehicle actually needs, what can realistically be accomplished, what they're paying for and why. I'm not interested in exaggerating a service, overselling a customer or putting a premium price tag on something simply because the terminology sounds impressive.
I'm also not interested in selling somebody the most expensive service simply because I can. A daily driver doesn't necessarily need to be treated like a show car. A brand-new vehicle doesn't necessarily need the same correction as a ten-year-old black truck. Sometimes the right answer is actually the less expensive service. If that's what your vehicle needs, that's what I'll tell you.
On the other hand, if a properly evaluated showpiece has enough clear coat and the goal really is perfection, then yes — we'll chase it. The recommendation should be based on the vehicle, its condition and the owner's goals — not on which option puts the most money on an invoice.
DO THE JOB RIGHT. TREAT PEOPLE RIGHT. PROTECT THE VEHICLE.
AND DELIVER SOMETHING I'M PROUD TO PUT MY NAME ON.
EXPERIENCE MATTERS
AUTOMOTIVE REFINISH EXPERIENCE DATING BACK TO 1994
Paint correction is more than polishing paint until it looks shiny. Correcting a finish means understanding automotive paint systems, clear coat, previous repairs, oxidation, sanding marks, etching and how aggressively a particular finish can safely be worked.
With ASE Refinish Technician experience dating back to 1994, that knowledge is part of every paint correction decision we make. Knowing when to keep correcting is important. Knowing when to stop is even more important.
100% CORRECTION ISN’T ALWAYS THE GOAL.
UNLESS THE PAINT ALLOWS IT AND THE VEHICLE CALLS FOR IT.
On a properly evaluated showpiece with sufficient clear coat, chasing near-perfection may be appropriate. On a daily driver, preserving clear coat while achieving a dramatic improvement is often the smarter approach.

WHY NORTH TEXAS CERAMIC COATINGS & DETAILING?
NO COOKIE-CUTTER DETAILING. NO ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL ANSWERS.
Every vehicle arrives with a different history, condition and purpose. Our job is to understand what you want from your vehicle, evaluate what it actually needs and recommend a service that makes sense.
01
STRAIGHTFORWARD RECOMMENDATIONS
If your vehicle doesn’t need the most expensive service, we’re not going to tell you that it does. We recommend the level of correction, protection or detailing that fits the vehicle and your goals.
02
QUALITY OVER SPEED
We’re interested in doing the job correctly — not racing a clock to push as many vehicles through the shop as possible. Proper preparation and attention to detail matter.
03
BUILT AROUND THE VEHICLE
A daily driver, work truck, new vehicle and showpiece don’t necessarily need the same approach. The process should fit how the vehicle is actually used.
04
RESULTS WE’LL PUT OUR NAME ON
Our reputation leaves with every vehicle. Whether it’s a detail, paint correction or long-term protection package, the finished product represents our business.
THE GOAL ISN’T TO SELL YOU EVERYTHING.
