Every New Vehicle Ceramic Coating package we install includes C6 Ceramics Adhesion Promoter Polish — APP for short — as part of our coating preparation process.
APP works differently than a traditional panel prep. Its specialized chemistry slightly swells the vehicle’s clearcoat, opening its pores while SiO₂ and polysilazane help lock the clearcoat in that receptive state.
The result? Your ceramic coating can work a few microns deeper into the clearcoat instead of relying solely on surface adhesion, creating a stronger mechanical and chemical bond.

WHAT IS COATING FRACTURING?
A ceramic coating cures into an extremely thin protective layer over your vehicle’s paint. During normal use, the paint system underneath that coating experiences movement, flexing and temperature changes.
Over time, stress within a ceramic coating can contribute to microscopic fracturing of that protective layer. C6’s approach combines advanced coating chemistry with APP preparation designed to create stronger adhesion with the clearcoat and help minimize one of the mechanisms associated with coating degradation over time.

Dealer preparation, transportation, improper washing and automatic car washes can damage brand-new paint surprisingly quickly — especially if your dealership has its own version of the “slap-n-scratch,” otherwise known as a tunnel car wash.
Many dealership washes are designed around speed and volume, not professional paint care. Wash media, chemical levels, soap delivery and equipment condition may not receive the same attention they would in a professional detailing environment.
