PROFESSIONAL AUTOMOTIVE PAINT CORRECTION

Paint Correction in Little Elm & North Texas

Swirls, wash scratches, oxidation, water spots and other paint defects can rob your vehicle’s finish of clarity, gloss and depth. Professional paint correction safely removes or reduces those defects by leveling and refining the paint — not hiding them with fillers.

The goal isn’t to chase every scratch at any cost. The goal is to achieve the best possible finish while preserving the integrity of your vehicle’s paint.

WHAT PAINT CORRECTION REALLY IS

WE REMOVE DEFECTS. WE DON’T JUST HIDE THEM.

Paint correction is the controlled process of leveling and refining the vehicle’s clear coat to permanently remove or significantly reduce defects such as swirl marks, wash scratches, oxidation, haze and certain water-spot damage.

Proper correction restores clarity, depth and gloss because the defects are actually being corrected — not temporarily covered with waxes, glazes or fillers.

SWIRLS & WASH MARKS

The circular or directional defects commonly caused by improper washing, automatic car washes and contaminated wash media.

OXIDATION & HAZE

Dull, cloudy or faded-looking paint can often be dramatically improved when the clear coat still has enough healthy material to safely correct.

SCRATCHES & ETCHING

Many scratches, water spots and etched defects can be reduced or removed, but deeper damage is evaluated carefully before we decide how aggressively to correct it.

100% CORRECTION ISN’T ALWAYS THE GOAL. PRESERVING YOUR CLEAR COAT IS.

BEFORE THE POLISHER EVER TOUCHES YOUR PAINT

INSPECT. DECONTAMINATE. THEN CORRECT.

Proper paint correction starts with properly prepared paint. Before correction begins, the vehicle is thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated so iron, mineral deposits and other bonded contamination aren’t left behind or dragged across the finish during polishing.

STEP 01

THOROUGH WASH

We begin by safely removing dirt, road film and loose contamination from the exterior.

STEP 02

IRON DECON

Embedded iron and ferrous contamination are chemically dissolved and removed from the paint.

STEP 03

MINERAL CLEANSE

Mineral deposits and water-spot contamination are chemically treated before polishing so we’re correcting clean paint instead of trying to polish through contamination.

STEP 04

MECHANICAL DECON

Remaining bonded contaminants are mechanically removed as needed to leave the surface smooth and ready for correction.

STEP 05

PAINT INSPECTION

We evaluate the finish, defect severity and overall paint condition to determine the appropriate correction process.

NOT ALL CLEAR COAT CORRECTS THE SAME.

Clear-coat hardness and softness can vary significantly between manufacturers, models and even individual panels that have previously been refinished. A harder clear coat may require a more aggressive combination to achieve the desired correction, while a softer clear coat can correct more easily but may also be more susceptible to hazing, marring or polishing marks. Paint type, previous repairs, clear-coat condition, defect severity and paint response all influence how aggressively a finish can — and should — be corrected.

Paint correction defects under inspection lighting in Little Elm Texas

THIS IS WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

PROPER LIGHTING REVEALS WHAT NORMAL LIGHTING HIDES.

Swirl marks, wash scratches, haze and other defects can disappear under soft showroom lighting and jump right back out in direct sunlight. We inspect paint under focused lighting so we can see the true condition of the finish before deciding how much correction is appropriate.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT LEVEL OF CORRECTION

PAINT ENHANCEMENT VS. 1-STEP VS. 2-STEP CORRECTION

Not every vehicle needs — or responds to — the same level of correction. We match the process to the condition of the paint, your expectations and how aggressively the finish can safely be corrected.

ALL CORRECTION RESULTS ARE DEPENDENT ON CLEARCOAT HARDNESS OR SOFTNESS, DEFECT TYPE AND DEPTH, PAINT CONDITION AND HOW MUCH MATERIAL CAN BE SAFELY REMOVED.

GLOSS & CLARITY

PAINT ENHANCEMENT

30–50%

TYPICAL DEFECT REMOVAL

CLEARCOAT DEPENDENT

Designed primarily to improve gloss, clarity and overall appearance while reducing lighter swirls, haze and minor defects. Depending on the hardness or softness of the clearcoat and the defects present, typical improvement is approximately 30–50%.

MOST POPULAR

1-STEP CORRECTION

50–85%

TYPICAL DEFECT REMOVAL

CLEARCOAT DEPENDENT

Our most common correction level for vehicles with moderate swirl marks, wash scratches, haze and other defects. Depending heavily on clearcoat hardness or softness and the defects being addressed, a one-step correction typically achieves approximately 50–85% defect removal while dramatically improving gloss, clarity and depth.

MAXIMUM SAFE CORRECTION

2-STEP CORRECTION

85%+

TARGET DEFECT REMOVAL

CLEARCOAT DEPENDENT

For vehicles requiring substantially more correction. A more aggressive correction stage is followed by a separate refinement stage, targeting 85% or better defect removal when the hardness or softness, condition and available clearcoat allow it to be achieved safely.

WHAT ABOUT DEEPER SCRATCHES?

Some deeper scratches and isolated defects may be candidates for wet sanding when the paint and clearcoat condition allow them to be addressed safely. These defects are evaluated individually rather than automatically chased as part of a standard correction.

Wet sanding and deeper isolated defect removal are handled on a case-by-case basis and are NOT included in standard paint correction pricing.

Correction percentages are estimates and not guarantees. All results are heavily dependent on clearcoat hardness or softness, defect type and depth, previous refinishing, overall paint condition and the amount of material that can be safely removed. Preserving the integrity of the paint takes priority over chasing an arbitrary correction percentage.

Deep scratch removal and paint defect repair in Little Elm Texas

DON’T ASSUME A SCRATCH IS PERMANENT

SOME DEEPER DEFECTS CAN STILL BE SAFELY REMOVED.

A scratch that looks severe doesn’t necessarily mean the panel needs to be repainted. Depending on the depth of the damage and the amount and condition of the available clearcoat, some isolated defects can be dramatically reduced or completely removed.

Deeper scratch removal and wet sanding are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and are not included in standard paint correction pricing.

PAINT CORRECTION PRICING

PROFESSIONAL PAINT CORRECTION STARTING AT $500

CORRECT IT. THEN PROTECT IT.

PAINT CORRECTION + CERAMIC COATING

Paint correction and ceramic coating perform two completely different jobs. Correction removes or reduces defects and restores clarity, gloss and depth. A ceramic coating is then applied to the corrected finish to provide long-term protection and make the vehicle easier to maintain.

A CERAMIC COATING DOESN’T REMOVE SCRATCHES OR SWIRLS — THAT’S WHAT PAINT CORRECTION IS FOR.

STEP ONE

CORRECT THE PAINT

We select the appropriate correction process based on the condition of the finish, clearcoat hardness or softness, defect severity and your desired result. The goal is to safely create the cleanest, clearest finish possible before protection is applied.

STEP TWO

PROTECT THE RESULT

Once the finish has been corrected and properly prepared, a professional ceramic coating can protect that newly refined surface while adding hydrophobic performance, chemical resistance, gloss and easier maintenance.

DON’T SPEND THE TIME AND MONEY CORRECTING YOUR PAINT JUST TO LEAVE THE FINISH UNPROTECTED.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

PAINT CORRECTION FAQ

A few of the questions we hear most often about paint correction, scratches, swirls and what kind of results are realistic.

WILL PAINT CORRECTION REMOVE EVERY SCRATCH?

No. Some scratches are simply too deep to remove safely without sacrificing too much clearcoat. Our goal is maximum safe improvement while preserving the integrity of the paint.

HOW MUCH DEFECT REMOVAL SHOULD I EXPECT?

Paint enhancement typically targets approximately 30–50%, a 1-step correction approximately 50–85%, and a 2-step correction 85% or better when the paint allows. All results are heavily dependent on clearcoat hardness or softness, defect depth, previous refinishing and overall paint condition.

DOES PAINT CORRECTION REMOVE CLEARCOAT?

Paint correction works by carefully leveling a microscopic amount of the clearcoat around defects. That is exactly why experience, proper technique and knowing when to stop matter.

CAN DEEP SCRATCHES BE WET SANDED?

Some deeper isolated defects can be improved or removed through wet sanding when the paint and available clearcoat allow it to be done safely. Wet sanding is evaluated and priced on a case-by-case basis and is not included in standard correction pricing.

IS PAINT CORRECTION PERMANENT?

Defects that are actually removed are removed permanently. However, improper washing, poor maintenance and “Slap N’ Scratch” automatic car washes can create entirely new swirls, scratches and marring afterward.

SHOULD I CERAMIC COAT THE VEHICLE AFTER CORRECTION?

It is strongly recommended if you want long-term protection for the corrected finish. Paint correction restores the finish; ceramic coating helps protect that result and makes routine maintenance easier.

WHY DOES CLEARCOAT HARDNESS OR SOFTNESS MATTER?

Different paint systems respond differently to polishing. Harder clearcoat may require a more aggressive combination to achieve correction, while softer clearcoat may correct quickly but can also be more susceptible to haze or polishing marks. That response helps determine the safest and most effective process for each vehicle.
